She talks of her blessings, prays over them and protects them.
She is frightened but has to stand strong for her blessings.
She was ashamed but had to stand for her blessings.
She was rejected but accepted the blessings that caused this.
She was alone but never lonely because she had her blessings.
She stood by her blessings. She embraced all their madness. She wiped their tears.
She loved unconditionally, held her hopes and found her peace.
She denied herself for her blessings. She was full because her blessings were hungry. She was strong because her blessings were weak.
Today, her blessings are here to confess her strength, her love and her presence.
She didn’t give them everything, she gave them all she had. All her love.
She saw them through thick and thin and she’s still watching them.
That was and is my mother.
